An Interactive Digest Movie Creation Method Focusing on Specific Persons Using Face Detection

Digest movie is useful to browse a collection of movies in a short time. This paper presents a user interface to assist creation of digest movies. This study aims to generate digest movies highlighting specific persons. The presented technique firstly applies a face identification technology to extract shots which take the target person. It then calculates the similarity between arbitrary pairs of shots which take the target person and other shots, and scores all the shots which do not take the person based on the maximum similarity. The user interface displays all the shots which are moderately similar to the shots which take the target person. Users can flexibly select shots which the users want to feature to the digest movie.
