摘要

Digital archiving and constructing computer-aided visual spaces of cultural assets have been recognized as important applications of the modern computer technology. In this paper, we report our virtual space of Funeboko-cho, a city area where the Gion Festival is held. Our virtual space adopts the next-generation 3D game engine, Unity, as its platform. By following a workflow that is similar to the one used in creating a 3D game, we can easily realize a high-quality and high-performance virtual space. Moreover, even non-experts of computer graphics can easily update the created virtual space when required. It is also easy to port the virtual space to various environments such as a head-mounted display, a largescale stereoscopic display, an Internet browser, and others.
