By using the method of fundamental solutions (MFS), some precise stress distributions can be obtained in notched plate problems. One of the authors has been improving the source loads of the MFS program based on the collocation method to calculate some maximum stresses at the notch root correctly. In this study, it is found that the improved MFS, which uses the equally dispersed point loads (EDPL), gives the good accuracy of the stress concentration factor (SCF) for some infinite problems with holes. The reason is that we can confirm the accuracy of stress by using the index on the balance of force.
