ETC system has been provided whole expressways in Japan since 2001 to resolve heavy traffic jams around toll lanes. Currently, the rate of ETC system utilization exceeds over 85%, but it is still available to be improved. To increase customer satisfaction and enhance operational safety, we developed more sophisticated ETC system equipped new functions and opened it in 2013. In this paper, we will show new functions of ETC system and how the system works.
