PSY vs. PSY* (profit per sow per year)

PSY has long been a measure of the productivity of swine herds. It is an estimate of sow productivity but not facility utilization (Egg. pigs per crate per year). It does not give us any information on the growing pig, revenues or profits of the enterprise. Actually, recent research shows that PSY has a negative impact on finishing performance and perhaps PSY* (profit/sow/year).
