Complex-type N-glycans are ligands of lectins, toxins, enzymes and antibodies. In order to understand carbohydrate-protein interactions, pure and labeled N-glycans are required. The chemoenzymatic synthesis of these compounds [1] is a reliable approach to obtain defined structures in high purity. Recently, by means of paramagnetic NMR spectroscopy the analysis of branch-selective interaction of multiantennary N-glycans with lectins was accomplished. [2,3]
