The involvement of external contusive traumatic shock in thanatogenesis: case reports

Objectives: The present study reflects part of our efforts to define and describe the entity we call External ContusiveTraumatic Shock (STEC) and its direct involved in death onset. We refer to traumatic disorders due to externalcontusive injuries, without any major damage to the vital organs and underline the need to quantify their pathophysiologicaleffects, with the purpose of establishing the homeostatic threshold for the onset of the deathgeneratingsyndrome. Due to it’s frequency, the intricacy with other potentially lethal factors became animportant part of the study, otherwise narrowed by the scarcity of cases of pure traumatic shock.
