To study the geochemistry and response mechanism of heavy metals in Qingdao coastal sediments, As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Pb, Zn, etc seven kinds of heavy metals content and distribution characteristics in 157 surface samples and 2 cores were analyzed. Correlation analysis showed that particle size plays a major role in heavy metals distribution. By the river surface samples for comparative study, river sediments is one of the possible sources of heavy metals. 2 cores of heavy metals with depth features and ~(210)Pb dating analysis present heavy metals distribution are under the influence of centennial-scale human activities.
