Study on the Processing Mineralogy of Lean Iron Ores

The mineral composition, the embedded character and the particle size of lean iron ore were studied by means of the theory of processing mineralogy, the technologic types of the iron ores were classified and drawn in the topographic map. The results show that the iron ores are divided into three types. Type one is difficult to be liberated and separated. Type two is easy to be liberated and difficult to be separated. Type three is easy to be liberated and separated. The first type is of the highest ratio. In order to improve the process indexes, the percentage of the iron ore in different types should be controlled when separating.
