Evaluation of using oral fluids from Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae positive gilts to acclimate weaning age pigs

Companies that have had Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (M hyo) challenges in their gilt breeding and sow farms have been interested in improved methods to acclimate their young gilts in development. Although oral ingestion is not the primary route of M hyotransmission, oral fluids have been looked at for acclimation procedures. The objective of this study was to evaluate if oral fluids collected from pigs shedding M hyo is safe and effective for acclimating naive weaning age pigs to M hyo.
