This paper presents a study on the thermal drying of sewage sludge and low-rank coal by immersion frying and its characteristics of oil separation from dried materials. The immersion frying is very cfiicient when sewage sludge contented moisture over 80.0 wt.% is dried. However, this technology consumes oil while processing because oil is substituted for empty spaces of dried water. We conducted the experiment of oil separation from fry-dried sludge and coal for recovering oil.
