Recently, the estimation of GHGs emission is calculated by the FOD method as a standard model. But, it is also reported that the estimated GHGs emission in the Asian region differs from other regions, due to the differences in climate conditions and waste composition. Research with Asian climate conditions and waste composition was done using large scale lysimeters. The estimation of GHGs emission by semi-aerobic and anaerobic landfill types is especially considered in this paper. From our results, the amount of DOC (Degradable Organic Carbon) in the leachate from the anaerobic landfill is higher than semi-aerobic landfill during the liquefaction process, which is the initial step of waste degradation. This means that in the case of leachate discharge outside the landfill, the amount of DOC for the estimation of GHGs emission can be decreased.
