Investigation on a New Type of Working Principles with Passiv and Activ Tillage Implements for Stubble Mulching, Conservation Tillage and Seedbed Preparation

A new working principle of stubble cultivation, preserving soil cultivation and seed bed preparation has been developed and tested at the Faculty of Agricultural Machinery of the Technical University Dresden. A cultivator tool and a horizontal rotary tool work directly together. Field experiments at various locations as well as different conditions showed that: 1. a use of the new method is also possible out of hard conditions (medium heavy and heavy soil and strong plant cover), 2. approximately 30% of required driving power can be transmitted over the tractor power take-off shaft as rotation power to the machine, 3. a weight related to working width under 0,5 t/m{sub}(working width) is realistic, 4. a specific power requirement of about 32 kW/m working width with a working speed up to 12 km/h and a working depth of 10 cm is sufficient, 5. the reached working quality in the usual working area does not depend on the working speed as well as 6. organic residues are intensively mixed close to the surface. Because of its solid way of construction the universal useably soil working implement is suitable to use in connection with a drilling machine.
