SILICON VALLEY'S ECOCLOUD~(TM) RAINS RECYCLED WATER

South Bay Water Recycling (SBWR) is a regional wholesale water distribution system serving 10,000 acre-feet of nonpotable recycled water per year to over 600 irrigation, commercial and industrial customers in the "Silicon Valley" area of northern California. With the completion of the most recent phase of construction in fall 2011, the SBWR system will include over 120 miles of distribution pipeline, four pump stations and three reservoirs representing a local investment in excess of $240 million. To maximize the return on this significant investment of public funds, in 2008 SBWR implemented a Cooling Tower Initiative to encourage recycled water use in cooling towers at commercial and industrial facilities.
