SUSTAINABLE RETURN ON INVESTMENT TOOL PROVIDES EARLY STAKEHOLDER BUY-IN

摘要

The purpose of this paper is to present the sustainability return on investment framework (SROI) developed by HDR to help guide organizations in making optimal sustainable choices that are most beneficial. The model promotes transparency and accountability as organizations seek to maximize the "triple bottom line" of economic, social, and environmental value created by its activities. The result is specific evidence of the project benefits demonstrating how sustainable the project is - that is, a measure of how "green". Officials can use the SROI tool to justify their investments in sustainable initiatives, maximize their triple bottom line, and communicate their environmental stewardship.
