Challenging Design Issues for Offshore LNG Terminals

LNG is universally recognized as one of the most attractive means of addressing the projected increase in world energy demands.LNG offers an economic means of connecting the world's natural gas reserves with the existing and future energy markets.The Energy Information Agency(EIA)in the recently released"2005 Annual Energy Outlook"stated that natural gas consumption in the USA will rise by 30% in the next 10 years.A significant portion of this increase in demand will have to be met by LNG.There are presently 4 LNG receiving and regasification terminals in the USA and proposals for more than 40 are at various states of planning and approval.
