Context In the perspective of ambitious targets for building energy performance and increasing needs to retrofit existing buildings, the implementation of solar thermal collectors into facade becomes very interesting. Solar thermal collectors are becoming more and more in demand as public consciousness, architect interest and energy regulations require an increased use of solar energy. To facilitate the architectural integration of collectors in the building skin, several initiatives are being taken from researchers and collector manufacturers, developing new products or accessories, mainly in the glazed flat plate collectors' domain. Facade use increases the available exposed surfaces and, thanks to the vertical tilt, helps to avoid overheating in summer-time, as the energy production is almost constant over the year [1], [2]. This allows sizing the collector according to the actual heat needs and avoiding as much as possible energy fluxes mismatch. The application of this kind of technology could become very interesting for new buildings and for the energy retrofit of existing buildings built in 60 and 70 years.
