A Shotgun Lipidomics Approach Using Charge Switch Derivatization: Analysis of Fatty Acid Double Bond Isomers

The charge switch strategy by derivatizing FA with AMPP markedly increases analytical specificity and sensitivity of FA analysis by shotgun lipidomics, including specific profiling of FAs, unambiguous identification of FA double bond positions through diagnostic fragmentation fingerprints, and accurate quantitation of coexisting FA double bond isomers.
