Quantitation of Sphingolipid Molecular Species of Drosophila Melanogaster

1. A LC- MS~n approach was developed for analyzing Drosophila lipids from minimal sample amounts. The approach reaches throughput and sensitivity r equired for biological research. 2. In Drosophila brain tissues 4 main sphingosine long chain bases are detectable in all sphingolipid classes. 3. Only one free Sphingosine (14:1) was detected.
