摘要

Diabetes is a complex disease affecting over 320 million people worldwide that challenges glycaemia regulation and appears closely related to other clinical features like dyslipidemia and hypertension. In spite of intense research, the complex etiology of insulin resistance and its influence on the accumulation of triacylglycerides in liver and hepatic steatosis (NASH) remains not completely understood. To unveil the link between insulin-regulated signaling networks and hepatic steatosis, we used two mouse strains (C57B6/J and 129Sv) that show acute phenotype differences after several weeks of high-fat diet, and performed quantitative measurements by mass spectrometry of proteins involved in the insulin-signaling pathway and lipid metabolism.
