The combined used of pressure cycling and UHPLC results in the improvement of the detection sensitivity of the CYP peptides making this protein-LC/MRM detection method as cost effective as the traditional enzyme activity measurements for 7 CYPs. Results obtained from proteomics approach were comparable to those obtained by activity assays. One unique fecture for the proteomics approach is that it allows CYP induction assay to to be performed across multiple species when appropriate surrogate peptides that are common to the species of interest are used in MS detection. This will be considered for future works.
