Membrane proteomics analysis was carried out using the pancreatic cancer metastatic cells from a single patient which is a good model system to study molecular impact on metastatic events. We used the high resolution Fourier transform mass spectrometer to analyze SILAC labeled membrane proteomes. In total about 1600 proteins were identified, out of which nearly 800 proteins were considered as the membrane proteome based on the functional annotation using DAVID. Some of quantitatively identified proteins such as vimentin, clusterin and E-cadherin were validated by immunohistochemistry. Novel proteins identified in this study may be potential biomarkers which can be contributed to the community researching the pancreatic cancer metastasis.
