APGC TOF MS is a very sensitive technique allowing the detection of biomarkers at very low levels in rare and irreplaceable Egyptian artefacts. The predominant molecular ion species generated compared to EI spectra aids in the detection of low level species. Exact mass data allows the generation of proposed elemental compositions for the components detected aiding in their identifications.
