Several examples of electronic nose applications to diagnose different forms of cancers have been presented in the recent years. Although clear relationship between sensors signals and the presence of the diseases have been provided, in-vivo experiments suffer of a number of non-controlled variables that makes uncertain the meaning of the experimental results. In this paper, an experiment aimed at measuring the volatile compounds from cultured tumoral cells lines is illustrated. Results suggest that each cell line, extracted from human tumors, is characterized by a proper volatile compounds pattern and that these patterns tend to clusterize according to the kind of tumor.
