The development of acquired inhibitors against factor XIII is rare. Only a few case reports are published concerning this acquired bleeding disorder. In most cases treatment of acute bleeding and elimination of the inhibitor was difficult and in some cases not successful.In the last years the therapy with the monoclonal anti-CD20 antibody, Rituxi-mab, evolved as an opportunity to eradicate autoantibodies. In this case report we present our experience with a spontaneous antibody against factor XIII.
