Renewable chemicals are derivatives of bio fuels, and are now independent of the bio-fuels development. Renewable chemicals have, and continue to develop across the full spectrum of the chemical platforms, from single-carbon backbones to carbon chain lengths of 6 and up. These divest developments, which have been enabled by signifcant advances in process conversion and genetic biology technology, are yielding in broad range of chemical platform intermediates that target end-use products ranging from commodity polymers to specialty and fne chemicals.
