Yak is a kind of mammals living at the highest altitude except human, it can adapt to alpine ecological conditions, and mainly distributed in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where the altitude is over 3000 meters. The time for yak to produce milk is aboutJune to September each year, the milk tasted soft and flavorful, has high nutritional value and known as natural, green, and concentrated milk. The milk of yak has abundant nutrition ingredients that are essential to the health of man, such as amino acids, lysozyme, microelement, etc. Due to the high altitude and complex topography of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the yak is adopted in the form offree-range, so the traditional milking machinery can't be used in the plateau. The herdsmen generally use artificial milking method, this method is labor-intensive and hygiene cannot be guaranteed. Therefore,, design a kind of yak milking machine based on ergonomics to replace artificial milking is necessary, it can improve work efficiency, reduce labor intensity and ensure the hygiene of milking process.Based on the research of related literatures, this paper confirmed the overall scheme of the yak milking machine, and the stress intensity of the rack was checked, the ergonomic analysis of the whole machine were carried out. The results showed that thedesign conformed to the requirements of ergonomics, which proved the feasibility of the design and the value of yak milking machine.
