Due to their physiological properties marine natural products have been in the focus of scientists in the past decades. Marine Oxylipins attracted considerable interest in recent years, especially those containing a cyclopropyl lactone moiety such as Neohalicholactone (1), Constanolactone (2 + 3) and Solandelactone (4 - 8). The synthesis of the aliphatic side chains of some representatives as well as the total synthesis of Neohalicholactone (1) will be the subject of the presentation:
