Label-free quantitation reveals the importance of host cell arginine uptake in Francisella phagosomal escape and ribosomal protein amounts

We showed that inactivation of the transporter ArgP severely impairs Francisella phagosomal escape. By using high-resolution mass spectrometry, we found that arginine limitation affected in particular ribosomal protein biogenesis in the ΔargP mutant. These data suggest possible links between ribosomal proteins amounts and phagosomal escape.
