Moisture effect on melt rheology of an amorphous copolyester based on poly (ethylene terephthalate), thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPE) based on poly (butylene terephthalate) and the blend of those at 90/10 weight ratio was studied using a melt flow index (MFI) tester and a rotational rheometer. In addition, phase transition temperatures (glass transition, crystallization & melt) were measured using a Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC). An empirical equation for correlation between rheological properties (zero shear viscosity, MFI) and moisture content was developed. No correlation was found between the phase transition temperatures and moisture content within the range studied. An FTIR was used to assess the miscibility of the polymer blend.
