Mud Volcanism in the Po, Italy and South Caspian, Azerbaijan Basins - Differences and Their Possible Origins

摘要

In presentation the results of the analysis on mud volcanism of Po and South Caspian basins are given. It has been determined that the differences in development density, morphology and activity of mud volcanoes in the Po and South Caspian basins are conditioned by the difference of sedimentation rate, thickness and facial composition of sediments, as well as by total content of OM in mentioned basins.
