摘要

Delaying gas and water coning are important aspects to consider for maximizing oil recovery from horizontal/multilateral wells in thin oil rims. Water and gas coning in most cases result in severe drop in the individual well productivity and in many cases gas/water management could also be restricted in offshore fields. Sector models with fine grids have proved to be useful to study the physics of these phenomena preserving the boundary conditions of the full field simulation model for different well geometries and achieving optimization of the production rates.
