Aims: To evaluate dietary compliance (DC) and to identify relapses of our coeliac patients in the outpatient department by means of endomysial (EMA) and anti-gliadin (AGA) antibodies.Patients and methods: 139 coeliac patients were followed for a 2-year period. Patients younger than 1 year were excluded from the study. EMA were assessed by indirect immunofluorescence and AGA by enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay. DC was determined by an accurate dietary history and questioning, and, according to the assessed DC, patients were divided into 7 groups. Jejunal control biopsies were performed in 20 patients.
