Budenofalk~R and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for treatment of anal complications of Crohn's disease with peripheral arthritis in a 15-year-old boy

Thirty-five per cent of patients will have perianal complications of Crohn's disease (fistulas and abscesses) during the course of their disease.There is significant association between extraintestinal complications and perianal complications (25%), which raises the possibility of a pathogenetic relationship between the two conditions.Peripheral arthritis as an extraintestinal manifestation can be associated with or complicated by inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease) in more patients. Some patients with inflammatory bowel diseases have extracolonic problems from the beginning, most of them favorably influenced by treatment and remissions of the disease.The immune aspects implicated in pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases were clinically evaluated by association with other autoimmune diseases (peripheral arthritis, erythema nodosum, hepatic cirrhosis, conjunctivitis, vasculitis, uveitis, ankylosing spondylitis, Reiter syndrome).The risk factors have been observed at the beginning and during remission, the patient being, mostly, treated with sulphamide, cortisone or immunosuppressants.We studied a 15-year-old boy with Crohn's disease with perianal complications (fistulas) and extraintestinal complications (peripheral arthritis).
