Diagnostic Hysteroscopy in Perimenopausal Women

Diagnostic hysteroscopy is a truly useful tool, that strengthens our ability for precise diagnosis of endometrial lesions. We present a series of 40 cases, which were performed at the Department of Gynaecology at LAIKO Athens General Hospital. All women, who underwent this diagnostic procedure, were between 45 and 55 years old and they presented to us with meno-metrorrhagias and/or ultrasonographic findings of endometrial thickening. In all these cases our procedure was followed by biopsy. The histologic findings were in agreement with the hysteroscopic picture.
