摘要

We demonstrate the generation of free-space, picosecond, narrow-band, tunable THz radiation by a transient polarization grating induced by two femtosecond pulses propagating in a LiNbO_3 crystal. Furthermore, we show that this technique provides an attractive opportunity for a high contrast shaping of the generated THz waveform. The experimental realization of the THz shaping is quite simple.
