摘要

The response of the glass surface to a sharp contact loading provides a unique insight into the material constitutive law, including elastic and irreversible deformation parameters (shear flow and densification). Poisson's ratio plays a major role in the elastic stresses distribution which directly influences the amount of irreversible processes. The aim of this study is to highlight the Poisson's ratio effect on the elastic stresses distribution, depending on the contact modeling and the densification deformation in a way similar to the one introduced by Yoffe. Formal modelling has been used to extract some clear trends, with an explicit analytical equation including the effect of Poisson's ratio. Results are correlated to experimental data.
