The concept of global retailing will enable customers to see themselves performing " virtual wearing trials" of garments and manufacturing companies to trade without having to sell to retailing shops. A physical-based cloth model with collision detection to animate garments on fully skinned virtual human is presented. A new approach for reconstructing the human body based on a parametric hierarchical multi-resolution mesh from ordinary photographs is presented. Supported by a newly local deformation technique, the resulted human model is capable of fitting effectively an individual body with a simple animation skeleton. An effective plane texture-mapping algorithm constituted of multiple subdomains is applied to the model to display a lifelike human appearance. A set of effective skeleton animation techniques is presented for representing realistically an human object through skinning smoothing. The successful integration of all these techniques displays a real time virtual wearing trial with life-like head and garment drape behavior using customer information from database connected with the Internet.
