Parachute-Landing Recovery Technology of Launch Vehicle Stage

Launch vehicle stage recovery in safe and reliable is the prerequisite and basis for its reuse. Compared to propulsion-deceleration landing and winged-deceleration landing, parachute-deceleration landing recovery technology is easy and can be divided to three types: water-landing, ground-landing and air-recovery. SRB, K-l launch vehicle, the first stage of Vulcan launch vehicle are typical examples in applications. This paper studies these three types of parachute-deceleration landing and related key technologies. Meanwhile, the development of the parachute-landing recovery technology in CALT is presented.
