摘要

Results of ballistic firings and closed vessel tests of a double base propellant have been compared. The pressure measured in the cartridge during the ballistic firing has been converted into a pressure history characteristic of constant volume combustion. For this purpose, an adiabatic gas expansion relationship is used. This curve enables us to calculate the combustion rate using different assumptions. A good correlation is obtained between the two types of experiment when the combustion rate is calculated taking into account losses during the combustion process.
