If prevention of vibration and shock is important, suspension systems are of particular interest. A good knowledge of the response of the driver and the performance of the suspension system is important to propose improvements. Different suspension systems of the type 'full travel' used in agricultural machinery seats over the last 20 years are evaluated. A new improved passive suspension system is proposed as most promising for agricultural machinery or other vehicles with similar vibration inputs. A comparison is made with existing passive systems [1].
