As it follows from the given text, the statement enumerates all postulates of modern cardiac rehabilitation. The importance of multifactorial nature of cardiac rehabilitation, encompassing influence on physical, psychological and social status of the patient, has been highlighted. Moreover, it has been emphasized that patient's involvement is pivotal in the rehabilitation process. The definition concludes that the ultimate purpose of cardiac rehabilitation is to help the patients in achieving the best possible place in the community.In the 1960s the target population for cardiac rehabilitation was predominantly limited to survivors of uncomplicated myocardial infarction. The unquestionable achievement of cardiac rehabilitation in this period was its fundamental contribution to important shortening of immobilization after myocardial infarction and advancing of noninvasive and subsequently invasive diagnostic procedures, which resulted in considerable reduction in the duration of the hospital stay. Thesechanges in the management of myocardial infarction had measurable physical, psychological and social effects as well as favourable economic outcomes.
