This paper presents a general method for the process of evaluating a masonry structure, considering the fact that the geometry of the structure is complex and that material properties are unknown and cannot be directly assessed. A multidisciplinary approach is presented that integrates close range digital photogrammetry, ground penetrating radar (GPR) and finite elements analysis (FEM) in the documentation of a masonry bridge. Close range digital photogrammetry and GPR techniques are used in the geometric survey and building material homogeneity analysis. The resulting information is used to properly define a finite element-based structural model, which is then used to model the structural behavior of the bridge using two hypotheses about its internal composition. This methodology is considered useful in the design rehabilitation process of this type of bridge structure.
