In the present work we report the identification by two-dimensional electrophoresis followed by Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ioniza-tion Mass Spectrometry of cellular proteins down-regulated at early times after African swine fever virus (ASFV) infection. These cellular proteins are involved in key transcriptional and translational processes, virus intracellular trafficking and apoptosis induction. The identification of these proteins will contribute to clarify the mechanisms of ASFV-host cells interactions and pathogenesis of the disease.
