The research presented in this paper includes the design, prototyping, evaluation, refinement and implementation of a user-friendly site selection system for use by decision makers and land use planners. The study area in selecting garbage disposal sites is around twin cites of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The study highlights the importance of a multi source database for selection of waste disposal sites using spatial Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and integration of relevant databases on GIS platform. The criteria considered for the selection of excellent sites are based on exclusionary parameters and non- exclusionary parameters. The GIS layers derived from remote sensing and used in the AHP method. According to the weightages allotted to each one of the polygons in the study area the entire area is categorized into five classes of site suitability as excellent, good, moderate, poor and unsuitable. The excellent sites selected are three in study area, which are shown in the suitability map.
