VISUAL INTERACTIVE MODELING FOR DECISION ASSESSMENT

The use of visual interactive modeling and simulation for decision assessment is described in the article. The application of visual interactive modeling and animation can help users to obtain a better understanding of simulation results, especially those, who are not computer simulation experts. The real process was recorded by video camera, digitalized and implemented on a personal computer. Animation of the simulated process synchronized with the video of the real process was projected in the conference room. In this way, validation of the model and confidence of the participants in the evaluation of the chosen solution was achieved. Decision-makers are motivated by the animation while seeking better solutions for production problems. Two criteria were evaluated for the alternative selection: the expected value and the value of multiple criteria evaluation. Special effort was directed to the confidence in the chosen methodology, understanding the model and its validation.
