Calvarial Cavernous HemangiomaAssociated with Dural Cavernoma.Case Report and Review of the Literature

Cavernous hemangiomas of the skull are uncommon lesions. Dural cavernous angiomas are also rare and arise from the middle cranial fossa, usually involving the cavernous sinus and parasellar region. They are exceedingly rare to occur outside this region. Our patient presented with a left parietal outer table cavernous hemangioma of the skull closely related to, but distinct from, multiple small dural cavernous hemangiomas with an arachnoid reaction. To our knowledge, this is the first report of multiple small convexity dural cavernomas, and of such an association with a calvarial hemangioma. We briefly review the literature on both rare entities, as well as their clinical presentation and management. The nature, origin, and growth pattern of these vascular lesions is discussed, in view of our findings and our review.
