A doubled haploid population derived from Pelsart/Batavia cross was assessed for response to yellow rust under greenhouse conditions. Chi-squared analysis of observed data indicated a monogenic segregation for seedling stripe rust resistance conferredby cultivar Batavia. Bulked segregant analysis was used for screening SSR markers. Of 135 SSR markers tested, 28 polymorphic markers were identified and used on resistant and susceptible bulks to search for marker trait association. Genetic associationof stripe rust response with markers gwm437 and gwmlll located its corresponding gene to the long arm of chromosome 7D. The resistance gene was designated Yr33.
