The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between teacher efficacy and teaching effectiveness of PE teachers in elementary school in Taoyuan county as well as teacher efficacy's predictive effect on teaching effectiveness. With Survey Questionnaire of Teacher Efficacy and Teaching Effectiveness of PE Teachers in Elementary School of Taoyuan County as research instrument, we sent out 500 questionnaires and got back 366 valid with 73.2% questionnaire recovery rate. The important findings from the analysis are summarized as follows: 1. PE teachers in elementary schools of Taoyuan County feel that their teaching effectiveness is at the upper middle level. 2. PE teachers feel that their teacher efficacy is at the upper middle level. 3. PE teachers' integral teacher efficacy has positive correlation with integral teaching effectiveness. (r=.68, p < .01) .Namely, PE teacher with relative high integral teacher efficacy has relative high teaching effectiveness. There were positive correlations between every subparts of PE teachers' teacher efficacy and that of PE teachers' teaching effectiveness. 4. PE teachers' Personal Teaching Efficacy and General Teaching Efficacy has a significant predictability of PE teachers' teaching effectiveness; especially the Personal Teaching Efficacy shows the highest predictability.
