Safety Assessments on the Esterification Process of (S)-Carnitine by Using Acetic Anhydride/Nitric Acid/Acetic Acid mixtures

摘要

A new nitration process of (S)-camitine involving the system Ac_2O/HNO_3/AcOH is investigated by focusing the attention on possible major process deviations. Thermokinetic characteristics of the process are evaluated and a simplified model developed to predict the thermal behaviour of the reacting system.
